In God’s providence, three college students from Mississippi were given the opportunity to travel to Rwanda and work with kids in a local orphanage. Prior to the trip, they had heard about KSA and the Upward Soccer Rwanda program, and wanted to contribute to this ministry while in Kigali.
The leader of the trip, Whit Sanguinetti, and his two friends Daniel and Liam traveled to Kigali in June. For several days they taught the principals of Upward Soccer at an orphanage filled with young Rwandans who enthusiastically embraced the team as they learned new soccer skills.
As an additional blessing, Whit and his team transported a crate full of 75 youth sized soccer balls provided by our student team in Oklahoma (see story below). Some of the soccer balls were given to the orphanage, and the remainder were picked up by our Kigali staff, Ben and Oliver, to be given to new Rwanda church teams as more leagues are formed.
